The New England Patriots waived linebacker John Eskridge Monday.
Eskridge, who was allocated to NFL Europe this spring, is currently playing for the Amsterdam Admirals. Last weekend he posted a pair of sacks while playing defensive end.
Eskridge, 24, was signed by the Patriots as a rookie free agent on April 19, 2000. The 6-3, 235-pound linebacker was lost for the season after being placed on injured reserve on July 19, 2000.
The move lowers the Patriots number of Europe allocations to six. New England originally had 10 players slated to go overseas.
