FOXBORO, Mass. - The New England Patriots announced that they have activated rookie tight end Arther Love off the physically unable to perform list today. His activation fills the vacancy on the 53-man roster.
Love, 24, was drafted by the Patriots in the sixth round of the 2001 NFL draft. The 6-foot-4-inch, 250-pound tight end was a four-year letterman at South Carolina State, where he caught 34 passes for 562 yards and four touchdowns during his career. The team signed him on July 13, 2001, but a leg injury last spring kept him from competing throughout the preseason. As a result, the team placed him on the physically unable to perform list on Aug. 28, 2001.
