FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- New England Patriots linebacker Jerod Mayo and nose tackle Vince Wilfork remain sidelined from practice.
Two of New England's best defensive players missed their second consecutive day of preparations for Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens.
Mayo sprained the medial collateral ligament in his right knee during the first quarter of the season opener against the Buffalo Bills. Wilfork left last Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons when he hurt his left ankle.
Wide receiver Wes Welker and cornerback Jonathan Wilhite had limited participation in practice Thursday. Welker missed the past two games because of a knee injury, and Wilhite hurt his groin Saturday night while running from two people outside his residence, police said.
Both declined to talk with reporters.
