Pats re-sign Saul Patu to Practice Squad

Foxboro, Mass.-The New England Patriots announced that they have re-signed defensive end Saul Patu to their practice squad today.

Foxboro, Mass.-The New England Patriots announced that they have re-signed defensive end Saul Patu to their practice squad today.

Patu, 23, was originally signed by the New York Jets as a rookie free agent following the 2001 NFL draft. He spent the 2001 preseason with the Jets, but was released on Sept. 2, 2001. The 6-foot-3-inch, 272 pound defensive end finished his Oregon career with 167 tackles, including 26.5 sacks and 53 tackles for losses. He was signed to the Patriots practice squad on Oct. 10, 2001, but was released on Oct. 16, 2001.
