Friday on Patriots.com Paul Perillo and Erik Scalavino displayed their debating skills in regards to which Patriots rookie would have the greatest impact this fall. Paul went with the guy I'm already dubbing G-Force – second-round tight end Rob Gronkowski. (I was supposed to argue the Gronkowski side, as the debate topic idea came from me and the new No. 87 is my preseason binky. But, alas and as always, Paul swooped in and stole my idea. Story of my career here!) Erik went with what I guess would be considered conventional wisdom and chose the team's No. 1 pick – first-round corner Devin McCourty.
Since I didn't get to take part in the Debate Friday action, I figured I'd chime in with my own thoughts on the matter, going so far as to break down all the rookies we saw for the first time last weekend at rookie mini-camp. So here's my top-to-bottom list of the Patriots draft picks and how I think they might contribute in Year 1.
