Both teams struggle in the red zone offensively and are tough defensively. There will be more field goals than touchdowns and the Patriots will find a way to win a nip-and-tuck game that could come down to one mistake. This could a staring match with the loser being the team that blinks.

Patriots get the lead early on a Jake Delhomme interception and New England is never in trouble. Carolina's defense is formidable and because of that a blowout is avoided, but the Patriots defense is the difference, limiting both Stephen Davis and DeShaun Foster to less than 50 yards each.

Bill Belichick and the Patriots will show that they are the more prepared team. New England will get big plays in all three phases of the game, establishing an early lead and extending it later in the game. The Patriots all-around talent and team play will make the game less of a tight battle than many are predicting.
