Since Gillette Stadium's opening in 2002, its identity has been firmly linked to the New England Patriots and the team's amazing run of success at winning championships. Let's hope that never changes. But even if you're not a football fan there's plenty of reasons to visit Gillette Stadium, and those reasons have been growing more extensive.
Gillette Stadium has become one of the busiest conference and exposition destinations in New England. Like the popularity of its football team, that part of the stadium's business is now booming. Among the various locations on the stadium's grounds, including the Dana-Farber Field house and the Fidelity Investments Clubhouse, tens of thousands of square feet are available for events of all sizes. Add in Gillette Stadium's proximity to Boston and Providence and those cities' airports as well as free and ample parking, and event planners are discovering why Foxborough, Mass., is becoming an event hub.
"People are looking for a unique venue to host meetings and events and are tired of the same old Conference Center or Hotel Conference Room," said the stadium's Event Manager Kellie Morton, "They now understand that Gillette has everything they need to put on a successful event - and that unique element that builds excitement and attendance - the stadium!"
Just looking at the schedule of events for next two months and there's no doubt businesses are seeing the advantage of using Gillette Stadium for their events.
"We are very selective which open-to-the-public shows we will operate" stressed stadium Corporate Development Manager Jeff Connors, "It is critical that we have shows that attract the family atmosphere the Kraft Family has worked so hard to instill for many years and that doesn't end on the football or soccer field"
