ST. LOUIS (April 20, 2005) -- The St. Louis Rams re-signed backup quarterback Jamie Martin to a one-year contract. The Rams also signed offensive guard Rex Tucker to a one-year deal.
Martin played in one game last year with St. Louis after being out of the NFL for more than a year, and probably will be the third-stringer behind Marc Bulger and Jeff Smoker. He was 16 for 30 for 188 yards last year.
Tucker started five games for the Chicago Bears before being placed on injured reserve on Dec. 13 with a hamstring injury. He missed the first seven games last year because of an elbow injury sustained in training camp.
Tucker has played in 35 career games with 27 starts, mostly at left guard. In 2001 he started all 16 games at left guard and was a Pro Bowl alternate.
