The Patriots were able to add some depth to their tight end ranks on Friday by signing former Bill Scott Chandler, according to ESPN.com'sAdam Schefter.
Chandler has enjoyed success against New England in the past, including last season. In the teams' first meeting, he caught six passes for 105 yards in the Patriots hard-fought 37-22 victory in Orchard Park, N.Y.
Chandler finished 2015 with 47 catches for 497 yards and three touchdowns. He should battle Michael Hoomanawanui and Tim Wright for a role behind Rob Gronkowski as backups next season.
