According to a report from NFL Network, Patriots Pro Bowl tight end Rob Gronkowski is expected to undergo back surgery next month.

NFLN’s Albert Breer – who was in attendance at Patriots OTA workouts at Gillette Stadium on Wednesday morning – tweeted this afternoon that "Per source, Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski will need back surgery. Tentatively set for mid-June. He'll likely miss at least part of camp."

Breer went on to tweet that Gronkowski's broken left arm, which has required four surgeries since the initial injury last November, is healing "with no sign of infection resurfacing."

Gronkowski will reportedly be operated on by back specialist Dr. Robert Watkins, who previously performed back surgery on the tight end in September of 2009, causing him to miss his entire final season at Arizona.
