It looks like Joe Cardona will be able to play for the Patriots in 2016 after all.
Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus told "The Dan Patrick Show" that the long snapper and Baltimore's rookie fifth-round pick Keenan Reynolds were approved to continue playing football while fulfilling their commitment in the Navy Reserves.
There was some question regarding Cardona's potential availability when Mabus recently indicated on the same show that the long snapper had been assigned to a ship. As a rookie last season he spent his off days in Newport, Rhode Island, at the Naval Preparatory Academy.
