PHOENIX -- Another Patriot is said to be recovering after post-Super Bowl surgery.
According to ESPNBoston.com, starting right tackle Sebastian Vollmer had a procedure on the labrum of one of his shoulders (the report did not specify which). The operation was needed, the report states, to fix an injury with which Vollmer dealt nearly all of the 2014 season. Vollmer has since begun rehabilitation exercises at Gillette Stadium and might be ready for action "when it counts," although the report did not offer a definitive timetable for his return.
By comparison, linebacker Dont'a Hightower also had a labrum operation done to his right shoulder recently, according to the Boston Herald, and his reported rehab schedule is said to be six to seven months. It's unclear, however, if Vollmer's injury was as severe as Hightower's.
