On Friday the Patriots reportedly had Lawrence Guy in for a visit. On Saturday NFL Network reports the Patriots signed the former Ravens defensive lineman.
The interior of the front was an area of need for the team heading into free agency but the Patriots were able to bring back free agent Alan Branch, who was perhaps New England's best defensive lineman in 2016, on a two-year deal.
The 6-4, 305-pound Guy played in all 16 games for Baltimore last season, finishing with 28 tackles and a sack as a part-time interior run-stuffer. He's spent time with Indy, San Diego and the Ravens during his five-year career and has 129 tackles and 6.5 sacks during that time. Guy was originally a seventh-round pick of the Packers out of Arizona State in 2011.
