NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 24, 2005) -- Tennessee Titans tight end Ben Troupe has a foot injury that might cause him to miss the rest of the offseason but should not affect his availability for the 2005 season.
That was the initial diagnosis of the Titans medical staff May 24, the day after Troupe was injured without contact during an organized workout.
"Obviously this injury is more than a sprain," coach Jeff Fisher said. "His season is not in jeopardy. The worst-case scenario is that he'll start the season for us."
Troupe was the Titans' top draft choice, and 48th overall, in 2004 and finished the season second in the NFL among rookie tight ends with 33 receptions. Following the free agent departure of Shad Meier this offseason, Troupe and sixth-year pro Erron Kinney are the only veteran tight ends on the roster.
