The silver-and-black attack will invade New England next weekend.
The Patriots coaching staff can begin game-planning in detail Sunday because they now know they will face the Oakland Raiders in the second round of the playoffs. New England will host the No. 3 seed in the AFC next Saturday night, thanks to Oakland's 38-14 victory over the Jets Saturday night.
Quarterback Rich Gannon completed 23-of-29 passes for 294 yards and touchdown passes to both Tim Brown and Jerry Rice. Running back Charlie Garner ran for 158 yards and had an 80-yard touchdown run with less than two minutes remaining to clinch the victory.
Now that the Patriots-Raiders meeting is set, the winner of Sunday's Wild Card game between Miami and Baltimore will play at Pittsburgh next Sunday.
