New England Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker addresses the media during his postgame press conference at Wembley Stadium in London on October 25, 2009.

Q: (Question off microphone.)

WW: I'm definitely getting there, and took a few hits today. We'll see how we feel in the morning. But this is a bye week, and we want to make sure we lay it on the line and made sure we were ready to go and we're able to do that. So hopefully we get some rest and get a good week of practice and get some time off and come back the next week ready to go.

Q: (Question off microphone.)

WW: I thought it was really nice. It really reminded me of the Super Bowl in Arizona, how the field felt to me. So having that experience, I had on the right shoes. We did have to go with the screw ins, but really there weren't too many slips out there where I was falling down or anything like that. I think there was one time where I was trying to cut. But other than that, it was a fast track and I liked it.

Q: (Question off microphone.)

WW: I mean, he did a good job out there. It's tough for a rookie, especially he's been out there for a week. So really just coming in and understanding the system. We got a very complicated system. So for a guy to jump in there, it's tough on them. But he'll learn as he goes, and he's a good player, did a lot of good things in practice this week, and we just have to keep bringing him along and have him be a force to be reckoned with out there.

Q: (Question off microphone.)

WW: We talked and stuff. But for the most part he knew where to line up and where we're going. And things get screwed up sometimes out there, because you want certain guys on certain routes sometimes. And we'll be switching and things on our own. So I think that's kind of hard on him with guys who have been in the system for as long as we have and understanding where we want everybody.

Q: (Question off microphone.)

WW: Yeah, it was really well blocked. We got offensive linemen that can really get out there and block. Whenever I got the screen I saw Barber kind of slip, so I knew we had a chance to get in the end zone on that. So the guys did a great job of getting a hat on a hat, and I was able to get in the end zone on that.

Q: (Question off microphone.)

WW: Absolutely. Especially when you're catching five yard routes you've got to be able to do something with it afterwards. So that's something I definitely gotta be able to do or I'll be out of a job here pretty quick. So it's definitely something I take pride in and try to accomplish.

Q: (Question off microphone.)

WW: Really setting the tone like that, Brandon getting a pick like that and taking it back like that. Our defense, we've got a lot of young guys over there. They're playing hard and really doing what the coaches tell them and understanding the game, and that's what we need. And those guys have done just a great job and my hat's off to them. Makes our jobs a lot easier when you're not scrambling and making a high scoring affair.

Q: (Question off microphone.)

WW: Well, we're getting some big plays out there. I know in the first quarter of the season, we really weren't getting any big plays. And I think that's really changing. And coach made a point of it, and the guys really kind of answered to it. And we want to go out there and make big plays every opportunity we get. So that's what we're able to do. I think the big plays are the difference in us being able to do some things out there.

Q: (Question off microphone.)

WW: I mean, same thing that Tom talked about. Being around the guys. We all went to dinner on Friday night and hung out. And then yesterday I got to walk around London a little bit and kind of get the feel of it and things like that. So it was cool to just kind of get that experience. I've never been to Europe before. So getting to come over here and check it out was cool for me.

Q: (Question off microphone.)

WW: They were great, man. I'm a big soccer fan. So I played soccer all growing up. So really getting to kind of feel that vibe and everything. Them doing the wave, you couldn't hear anything when they started to do the wave and things like that. So it was definitely a cool experience to see their energy and what they bring to the game.

Q: (Question off microphone.)

WW: I was. I felt like there has got to be a lot of people from the states coming over to this game because everybody was really into it and it was good to see.

Q: (Question off microphone.)

WW: Yeah, I did. I saw a lot of jerseys out there and it was cool to see. I was pleasantly surprised.

Q: (Question off microphone.)

WW: I mean, you know, for us right now, especially being in the season, it's a game at a time for us. So we have a lot of ability and a lot of good players. But it comes down to us just going out there and executing on a weekly basis and taking care of business and hopefully that puts us in an opportunity to do something.

Q: (Question off microphone.)

WW: You know, I think the sleep. We ended up having a meeting at 8:30 on Saturday. I don't think anybody was too happy about. That was probably the biggest one, getting up early on Saturday. I would have liked about 10:00, something like that. But Coach wasn't having it.

Q: (Question off microphone.)

WW: Well, we're going to enjoy this win and have fun with it and then we're back to work on Wednesday. And we have a good week of practice and go into our bye week feeling good about ourselves and then come back to work the next Tuesday.

Q: (Question off microphone.)

WW: It was Jay Sleets or something like that. They thought we were a boy band when we went in there. That was pretty funny. We had two offensive linemen with us. I don't know where they got that from. But, of course, I'm going to make 12, take that, for sure. We act like we do, we like reach in our pockets. Okay. Six or seven of us.
