On playing the Patriots...

"We know we're going to need to play better offensively, and hopefully (the defense) can keep it rolling and see what happens next Sunday. It's a Bill Belichick-led team and defense, (and) we know they're in these games (all the time). Whether this be, who knows how many, Brady's 40th, 38th, something playoff game? So they're used to these kind of games, so it'll be a heck of a challenge."

- Chargers Quarterback Philip Rivers

"I'm looking forward to it. A lot of times you have to go through New England to accomplish your goals. We'll watch the tape on them, and we'll get ready for those guys."

- Chargers Head Coach Anthony Lynn

"Now I'm not playing Tom by any means, but is it special to go to New England to go against a Hall of Fame coach and arguably the best quarterback ever to play? (Am I excited to) get another shot at them? Heck yeah. Heck yeah it is special. Just like I always told you, we look over and it's Peyton Manning on the other side. I'm not playing those guys, but I have a great deal of respect. (I'm a) fan of those guys. So to get an opportunity again to go against them 11 years after we had that opportunity in the 2007 season, yeah, it's awesome. I'm looking forward to it."

- Chargers Quarterback Philip Rivers

"It's exciting to get another chance. I think it just goes to show, unless you're the Patriots, and I know there's some other teams that get in the postseason a lot, it's hard. They've been in the conference championship I think seven or eight in a row or whatever, but for most of us it's not that easy to get in. And when you get in and now you know you're one of eight teams, that's all you can ask for is a chance."

- Chargers Quarterback Philip Rivers

On Tom Brady...

"He's the GOAT, we all know that. He's going to be prepared, and they're going to be prepared, so it will be a showdown. But we're not fazed at all. We're grown men now. We're confident."

- Chargers Safety Jahleel Addae

"They have one of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game, and he's going to present a heck of a challenge. But really, it's about us, not them. We're going to have to play our best ball and not beat ourselves because that's something they do well. They don't beat themselves."

- Chargers Head Coach Anthony Lynn

On the Patriots offense...

"They figure out ways to win games and that's all that really matters. They won the division, I think for the ninth straight time, and back in this same situation I don't know how many times. But they figure out a way to win games and like I said, sometimes they go through the backs, sometimes they go through the receivers, tight ends and the defense will step up and make timely stops and they're stingy in the red zone. So they just figure out a way to win games with what they have and that's what's most important."

- Chargers Head Coach Anthony Lynn

On playing the Patriots at Gillette Stadium...

"We like competing and we know going into Foxborough, they're undefeated there and they're tough to beat, period. It doesn't matter where you play the Patriots; they're tough to beat. They have a wealth of experience on their team and they're well-coached by Coach [Bill] Belichick and his staff. We're looking forward to coming out there but we know our hands are full."

- Chargers Head Coach Anthony Lynn

"We do special things on the road. That's a fact, not an opinion. Tom (Brady) has been able to do a lot of really good things in his career but history doesn't win games. Sunday is about proving we have enough. You rely on the guys you have with you and rely on your fundamentals."

- Chargers Defensive Tackle Damion Square

"Our guys are hardened to a certain degree about playing in tough spots. Being down, being able to come back and win those games."

- Chargers Offensive Coordinator Ken Whisenhunt

"I hope that shows we are an extraordinary team. I think anytime you beat a team on the road it proves a lot about one's execution. Going in tough, hostile environments only adds to our confidence."

- Chargers Offensive Tackle Russell Okung

On the Patriots defense...

"We've got a heck of a challenge, our offense, going against that defense and how disciplined they play and how well they play especially this time of year. We've got our work cut out on that side of the ball."

- Chargers Quarterback Philip Rivers
