New England made two roster moves just prior to today's AFC Championship, placing Damien Woody on injured reserve and re-signing wide receiver J.J. Stokes.
Woody, who moved over to the left guard position from center after Mike Compton was placed on injured reserve early in the season, has been a fixture on the offensive line since being drafted by the team in 1999. After being injured in last week's Divisional playoff game against the Titans, he was replaced by Russ Hochstein.
Hochstein will continue in Woody's left guard spot.
Stokes was re-signed after being released earlier in the season. In his brief stint with the team this year, he caught 2 passes for 38 yards, one of them a 31-yarder. Stokes was in the line-up the last time the Patriots played the Colts back on Nov. 30.
