Players to Watch: Patriots at Bengals
Patriots.com's Mike Dussault shares his players to watch during the Patriots Week 15 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals at Paul Brown Stadium on Sunday, December 15, 2019.

Tom Brady, QB: Brady is coming off his second-worst performance of the season and has been sacked nine times in the last four games. It's been a grind for the GOAT, but we've learned to never close the book on Brady and the Pats until the final whistle and the Patriots still have three regular season games to get right. Never bet against Brady, especially going against a Bengals defense that ranks near the bottom of the league in most statistical categories.

Jakobi Meyers, WR: Despite two costly drops against the Chiefs, Meyers continues to emerge as a target that Brady is willing to throw to. Turn those two drops into catches and Meyers would a player everyone is talking about. The undrafted rookie is still under the radar but with 23 catches he's fourth on the team and seems destined to have a breakout game, or at least get his first touchdown of the year.

Isaiah Wynn, OT: Wynn has had his ups and downs since coming off of Injured Reserve but his physical talent jumps off the screen and if he can continue to progress the Patriots will have found their long-term left tackle. For the Patriots offense to turn it around it must start with the offensive line and Wynn should be one of the young players leading the way. It will be no easy task against an aggressive Bengals front.

James White, RB: After touching the ball 22 times against the Texans, White had a more limited role against the Chiefs with five catches for 27 yards and six carries for 33 yards. The Patriots seem to realize their best bet is to lean into White in both the passing and running games. Expect him to be a focal point for the offense in Cincinnati, especially if Julian Edelman is limited.

N'Keal Harry, WR: Harry played just two snaps against the Chiefs, but one was a remarkable effort on a swing pass that should've been a touchdown. If the Patriots are to find a new gear on offense they'll have to find more ways to get the first rounder involved. He proved he can make plays with the ball in his hands, now's the time to get him more chances.

Andy Dalton, QB: Since leading the Bengals to eight-straight losses to start the season, Dalton returned to the starting position and got the team's first win over the Jets in Week 13, following that up by going 22-of-38 for 262 yards and an interception against the Browns. Dalton's days are likely numbered in Cincinnati, but he's still a veteran quarterback who can win football games. Expect him to make use of receiving backs and tight ends.

Tyler Boyd, WR: Boyd leads the Bengals in receiving with 73 catches, 33 more than second-place Auden Tate, so it's a good bet the Patriots will match up Stephon Gilmore on him and force the Bengals to beat them with the secondary targets. Taking Boyd out of the game is the first piece of the gameplan as he's the Bengals most dangerous weapon.

Joe Mixon, RB: Mixon has 206 attempts this season, over 150 more than anyone else on the roster. Expect the Bengals to feed him early and often in an attempt to get him going against a Patriots run defense that has been far better in recent weeks despite back-to-back losses. Mixon is coming off his best performance of the season with 146 rushing yards and three catches for 40 yards. He picked up a touchdown both on the ground and through the air.

Geno Atkins, DT: Atkins isn't the same disruptive force he was earlier in his career, but in his 10th season he's still able to get after the quarterback and cause problems for an offensive line. That's a spot where the Patriots have struggled in recent weeks. Expect Atkins to see plenty of whoever is playing center for the Pats, be it Ted Karras back from injury or fill-in James Ferentz. Atkins could still destroy the Pats gameplan almost singlehandedly.

Carlos Dunlap, DE: At 30-years-old, Dunlap is putting up another solid season with five-and-a-half sacks and 29 solo tackles, right in line with his career production. Another aggressive pass rusher, the Bengals will aim to have Dunlap disrupt Tom Brady as much as possible. With inconsistent offensive tackle play, the Patriots can't afford to let Dunlap and Atkins combine and get consistent pressure on Tom Brady.
