Players to Watch: Patriots at Bills
Patriots Football Weekly's Andy Hart shares his players to watch during the Patriots Week 8 matchup against the Buffalo Bills at New Era Field on Monday, October 29, 2018.

Rob Gronkowski, TE – The Western New York native has always loved playing against the team he grew up rooting for and has put up huge numbers against the Bills over the years. Reports indicated this week that Gronkowski has "a shot" to play Monday night in Buffalo after missing the Bears game. That's good news for New England and a Halloween week nightmare for Buffalo defenders.

Stephon Gilmore, CB – Gilmore entered the NFL as a first-round pick in Buffalo and returns to town as the best cover guy in a Patriots pass defense that's dealt with plenty of criticism this season. The Bills haven't had much success through the air in 2018 and Gilmore & Co. need to make sure that doesn't change this week.

James White, RB – New England's passing back has taken the position to the next level, leading the Patriots with 45 catches. White has become truly a key cog in the passing attack and with Sony Michel out may need to continue to have an increased role on the ground as well.

Trey Flowers, DE – New England's top edge player and pass rusher has just two sacks through the first seven games as he heads toward free agency. Facing a lackluster Bills passing attack, this could be a week for Flowers and the rest of the front to build confidence coming off a tough afternoon in Chicago.

Tom Brady, QB – The G.O.A.T. has dominated the Bills over his career to the tune of a 28-3 record, the most wins by a QB against a single opponent in NFL history. Brady has yet to have a truly elite game up to his own high standards this season, but if history is any indicator that has a good chance to change Monday night in Buffalo.

Jerry Hughes, DE – The veteran pass rusher is one of the leaders and best players on the Bills defense, by far the better side of the ball for Buffalo this season. Hughes leads the Bills with 4.5 sacks, 10 QB hits, six tackles for a loss and three forced fumbles.

Zay Jones, WR – Jones leads the Bills limited passing attack with 19 receptions and is tied for the team lead in touchdown catches, with one. He also has the team's longest play of the year with a 57-yard reception.

Tremaine Edmunds, LB – The rookie first-round linebacker has made an instant positive impact on the Buffalo defense. Edmunds leads the Bills with 54 tackles, adding a sack, six passes defensed, two tackles for a loss, four QB hits and a pair of forced fumbles.

Tre'Davious White, CB – White is arguably one of the guys the Bills will be building around moving forward. For whatever it's worth the second-year cornerback is also the guy Rob Gronkowski hit after the whistle in last year's game in Buffalo, earning the tight end a suspension.

Derek Anderson, QB – Buffalo hasn't had much success throwing the ball this season and that includes the limited action the journeyman veteran Anderson has seen. If the Bills have any hopes of an upset the 35-year-old Anderson is going to have to rekindle the production of his Pro Bowl season with the Browns way back in 2007.
