Tom Brady, QB - Brady should get his first preseason game action against the Panthers. After so much time spent debating his contract and home sale status, here's a reminder that none of that matters until next year. For now, we still get to watch the GOAT do what he does best and anytime he takes the field he's the one to watch. Savor it.

Isaiah Wynn, OL - Wynn had a strong debut against the Titans and should increase his workload in what could be his final action before the regular season. If Wynn is aiming to go wire-to-wire in the opener and beyond it will be time to take the training wheels off and get a full sense of how the Patriots offense will be transformed with the first-rounder protecting Tom Brady's blindside.

Jakobi Meyers, WR - Meyers has been the breakout offensive player of training camp, but what's his ceiling? Until we see him catching balls from Brady in a game it's tough to say. Unless Julian Edelman is a surprise participant just three days after coming off PUP, Meyers should be Brady's primary chain mover against the Panthers.

Braxton Berrios, WR - Berrios had a quiet game against the Titans and will be playing for a job against the Panthers. Brady always draws a bead on quick slot receivers like Berrios so if he gets open he should get the ball. Punt returns will also play a significant role in Berrios' roster chances.

Matt Lacosse, TE - Lacosse returned to practice this week and it's a good thing because the team still really needs him for September. Without Ben Watson, Lacosse could find himself playing a significant role in the offense but he's still got a lot to prove. A strong couple catches up the seam and run blocks for the tight end would be just the boost the team needs to conquer their early regular season slate.

Mike Pennel, DL - Pennel seemed like a great fit on paper when he signed but hasn't seized a starter's job just yet, watching Danny Shelton elevate from his up-and-down first year with the team. Pennel is still a very good player, but he needs to flash within the system, something that isn't always easy to do for a defensive tackle adjusting to the Patriots scheme.

Chase Winovich, DL - Winovich got on the field against the Titans earlier than expected and was all over the field with a breakout performance. While he should still enter the game behind edge players like Kyle Van Noy and Jamie Collins, look for Winovich to build on his success from Week 2. It's not clear how high Winovich will rise up the depth chart, but he keeps improving every week.

Jamie Collins, LB - Speaking of Collins, he's looked like the same dynamic player we last saw in 2016 before he was traded to Cleveland. A freak athlete with a knack for getting to the ball, Collins' skills will be a welcome addition to the defense this year. He should be constantly involved and expect whatever game action he gets to be packed with impact plays.

Duke Dawson, DB - The 2018 second-rounder is playing for his job and it's pretty much now or never. That kind of pressure has a way of making or breaking a player. While he'll get later reps in this one, he's still likely to play in Week 4 regardless. But a strong performance with the starter-adjacents could help push him onto the roster. If ever a player needed a splash play it's Dawson.

Terrence Brooks, DB - The surprise free agent of the summer has seen consistent reps on defense since training camp opened. Brooks had his best showing against the Titans, bringing a physicality that is always appreciated in Foxboro and just the kind of thing you'd expect from a former Raven and Jet. Brooks could give the back end a new look for the first time since 2013 and is looking like he'll contribute in a number of ways.
