Players to Watch: Super Bowl LIII
Patriots Football Weekly's Andy Hart shares his players to watch during the Patriots Super Bowl LIII matchup against the Rams at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Sunday, February 3, 2019.

David Andrews – Centers are always literally in the middle of everything an offense tries to do, but Andrews will be even more important in this one as a central portion of the plan to deal with Aaron Donald and his dangerous partner, Ndamukong Suh. The Georgia native and University of Georgia alum could be a big story, one way or the other, in Super Bowl LIII.

Trey Flowers – Not only is Flowers New England's best front seven player at this point, he's also a guy who's always shown the ability elevate his game in the postseason. He has two sacks this January and will certainly be looking to help the Patriots make Jared Goff uncomfortable in the biggest game of the young quarterback's career.

Tom Brady – There is no more experienced, proven postseason player than the G.O.A.T. So far this January he's been getting rid of the ball quickly in an efficient passing game, a tactic Brady will try to continue to employ against Aaron Donald and the Rams defense in Atlanta.

Stephen Gostkowski – New England Super Bowls often come down to a field goal or a fourth quarter where every point is at a premium. Gostkowski is perfect so far this winter after a solid 2018 regular season and will be counted on to continue that success inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Sunday night.

Rob Gronkowski/Julian Edelman – Tom Brady's longtime favored targets came up huge in the final minutes of the impressive win over Kansas City in the AFC title game. They are each averaging 15 yards per catch this postseason and with another ring on the line must continue the late-season surge in playmaking against the Rams.

Jared Goff – After his rookie season in L.A. there were concerns that Goff was a first-round bust. Now, he's led his team to the Super Bowl but the young passer must prove from the get-go that he's ready for the big game and indeed game enough to keep up with the G.O.A.T. in a possible shootout.

Aaron Donald – The presumed Defensive Player of the Year is the centerpiece of the Rams defense. Bill Belichick described Donald as "unblockable," a disruptive, double team-splitting force in the middle against both the run and the pass.

Todd Gurley – Gurley is one of the best, most versatile running backs in the NFL in recent years and the man that makes the Rams offense run. But, after dealing with knee issues late in the season he's been strangely ineffective at times this postseason and lost carries to veteran journeyman C.J. Anderson. If the Rams are to be at their best, a supposedly healthy Gurley will a big part of the game plan to test the Patriots front.

Aqib Talib/Marcus Peters – Los Angeles' defense has two cocky, playmaking corners in the back end. When they are on the field together and playing well they can make life tough on any opposing passing attack. But, Tom Brady and Co. might also be able to take advantage of the duo's aggressive style.

Brandin Cooks – A year ago Cooks was in the Super Bowl with New England, now he'll be looking to make big plays to beat his former team. The speedy receiver has 11 catches for 172 yard (15.6 avg.) in two postseason games and makes for an interesting matchup concern for Stephon Gilmore and the Patriots secondary.
