Joe Cardona graduated from the Naval Academy in 2015 and was named the NFL's 2023 Salute to Service Award Winner.
Cardona is the third Navy alum drafted by the Patriots, joining Heisman Trophy winner and Winchester native Joe Bellino (1961) and Max Lane (1994).
Prior to the Oct. 22, 2017 home game vs. Atlanta, Cardona organized an effort amongst fellow Patriots players and coaches to donate 200 game tickets to military members.
