The Cheer for Dana-Farber program encourages local cheerleading squads from around New England to rally and raise funds for cancer care and research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. Since 2013, approximately $300,000 has been raised by more than 6,000 participants! Contributing teams are entered to win amazing and unique prizes.
This year, teams that raised more than $1,000 were entered to win the grand prize - the chance to perform prior to a Patriots home game! Four teams were chosen including Southington Valley Midget Cheer League, Melrose Youth Cheer, Rocket Cheer and Bentley University. The four teams performed at Gillette Stadium in front of thousands of fans prior to the home game against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, December 4. Click here to see great photos from the day.
The top nine fundraising teams also won the opportunity to attend a cheerleading clinic hosted by the Patriots Cheerleaders. The clinic will take place in January. Check back soon for clinic photos.
