Brady hits links

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and others from the organization will be playing in a pair of charity golf tournaments in the coming days.

With the Patriots passing camps, mini camp and offseason program behind him, Tom Brady is taking advantage of his time off to get in a few more rounds on the golf course. The quarterback, who also recently took some swings on the diamond in batting practice at Fenway Park, will play Sunday in the Pepsi Pro-Am that is part of the CVS Charity Classic in Rhode Island and then on Monday in the Willowbend Pro-Am in Mashpee, Mass.

No stranger to the links, Brady was considered one of the top football players on the course at the recent Patriots Charitable Foundation tournament. In fact Brady and professional golfer Jesper Parnevik finished fourth in the prestigious AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am this past winter with a four-round 29 under par score, just two strokes back of the leaders.

In Sunday's event Brady will be playing with a couple of other rather notable names in Patriots owner Robert Kraft and CVS CEO Tom Ryan. Some of the more notable professionals at the event include Billy Andrade, Fred Couples, Brad Faxon, Davis Love III and Nick Price.

In Monday's event on the Cape, Brady will be one of a number of celebrities on hand, including numerous NFL and professional sports names. He will be joined at the event by teammate Adam Vinatieri, Colts quarterback Peyton Manning, former NFL signal caller Warren Moon, Bruins great Bobby Orr, NBA legend Julius Erving, Celtics legend John Havlicek and numerous others. PGA tour names that will be at the event include Greg Norman, Tom Lehman, Craig Stadler and Scott Verplank.
