CLEVELAND March 28. 2005) -- The Browns terminated guard Kelvin Garmon's contract, dumping a player brought in by former coach Butch Davis last year to solidify Cleveland's weak offensive line.
Garmon injured his medial collateral, anterior cruciate and posterior ligaments in his right knee against Baltimore last November and missed half the season.
The signing of free agent guards Joe Andruzzi and Cosey Coleman this month meant Garmon at best would have been a backup. He had two years left on his contract with Cleveland.
The Browns also signed punter Derrick Frost and defensive back Dyshod Carter to one-year deals.
Frost was inconsistent last season with a net average of 35.4 yards and will compete with free agent Kyle Richardson for the starting job.
