The Patriots are making their annual trek up to Buffalo this weekend, and if you are a road trip warrior, we have some ideas for you. While it may be chilly upstate, there is still plenty to do and tons of food to try. Of course, we've got some great wing recommendations for you too!
If you're spending the weekend, you'll want to explore before kickoff at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
TO WATCH
If you are still looking for tickets for Sunday's matchup, you can check Ticketmaster to see what's available. Season ticket members can also use the NFL Ticket Exchange.
TO DO
One of the best ways to get to know a new city is to check out the brewery scene. Buffalo has plenty of breweries and pubs for visitors to check out, including Thin Man Brewing, Big Ditch Brewingand Buffalo Brewing Company.
For those ready to get into the holiday spirit, there is a tree lighting and holiday celebration taking place on Friday night. It's a perfect idea for those traveling with kiddos or who just want an excuse to get a big cup of hot chocolate.
Though it'll be chilly in Buffalo this time of year, while you're in the neighborhood, it is worth your while to check out Niagara Falls. You can also check out The Buffalo History Museum to appease your resident history buff.
The Buffalo Sabres play host to the Penguins on Friday night, and tickets are still available. You have a chance to see Sidney Crosby, as well as Boston University alumni Jack Eichel suiting up for the Sabres.
TO EAT
You can't go to Buffalo and not check out the wing scene. Anchor Bar and Duff's are two tourist staples, but locals also recommend Bar-Bill Tavern, The Nine-Eleven Tavern and Gabriel's Gate for some of the best wings in the city.
If wings aren't your thing, check out Chef's Restaurant or Ristorante Lombardo for great Italian dinners. For a good beer and shareable apps, check out 42 North Brewing Company in East Aurora. For some southern inspired eats up north, check out Toutant.
