KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Nov. 24, 2005) -- The Kansas City Chiefs signed cornerback Alphonso Hodge to a three-year contract.

To make room for Hodge on the roster, the Chiefs placed defensive end Khari Long on their practice squad.

Hodge joined the Chiefs as the second of the club's two fifth-round picks in the 2005 NFL Draft. After being released, he spent the first 10 weeks of the season on the practice squad.

Hodge played college football at Miami of Ohio, where he had 147 tackles and three fumble recoveries.

Long played in one game this season after the Chiefs made him the second of two sixth-round picks in the 2005 draft. He was a four-year letterman at Baylor.
