Christian Gonzalez made a promise to his parents when he first started playing football.
Over the weekend, the New England Patriots cornerback got to make good on his word, surprising his parents with the home of their dreams.
"Mom and Dad, I Told you guys when I started this football journey at 5 years old I was going to put you in a place you couldn't imagine," Gonzalez wrote in the caption of his Instagram reel on Saturday, sharing video of the moment his mom and dad saw the house for the first time.
"You deserve this and even more. I love y'all! Welcome Home!"
The reel shows his parents and two of his sisters arriving at the home to be greeted by Gonzalez. His mother, Temple, and father, Hector, appear to have been completely surprised by the grand gesture.
Gonzalez walks his family through the property, revealing its classic brick facade, stunning high ceilings, and serene backyard with a pool.
Having raised such a tight-knit family, with three of their oldest children going on to compete in NCAA Division I athletics and their oldest daughter Melissa representing Columbia in international track and field events, there's no doubt Hector and Temple deserve this thank you from their son.
As Gonzalez heads back to New England for his second NFL training camp this week, his family will get to making this house their home.
