The setback incurred by running back Robert Edwards Monday was indeed temporary. He passed the conditioning test for coaches Tuesday and is now cleared to practice with the team.
On Monday, Edwards finished all 20 sprints, but he did not do so within the time limit set by the coaching staff. Edwards stressed that he did not experience any pain in his knee and that his problems were a result of being overanxious. That proved true when he was able to run twenty 60-yard sprints in less than eight seconds earlier this morning.
Edwards is attempting to come back to the Patriots after missing the last two NFL seasons because of a very serious knee injury that nearly cost him his leg.
