BOSTON (Nov. 29, 2005) -- Jack Concannon, the former Boston College star who started at quarterback for the Chicago Bears in the late 1960s and early '70s, died Nov. 28 of a heart attack. He was 62.
Concannon died at Newton-Wellesley Hospital, son John J. Concannon III said.
Concannon played for the Philadelphia Eagles (1964-66), Bears (1967-71), Green Bay Packers (1974) and Detroit Lions (1975). He passed for 6,270 yards and 36 touchdowns with 63 interceptions in 90 career regular-season games in the NFL.
Also a basketball and baseball player at Boston College, Concannon was a member of the Screen Actors Guild, appearing in the movie MAS*H as well as Brian's Song.
He was inducted into BC's Varsity Club Hall of Fame in 1973.
In addition to his son, Concannon is survived by wife Ginny and daughters Kelly, Kara and Christa. A funeral was scheduled for Dec. 2 at Saint Brendan Church in Dorchester.
