Various rumors, reports and speculation were clarified Friday morning as the NFL officially announced that the Patriots would return to London to take on the St. Louis Rams on Oct. 28, 2012.
The game will be the first of a three-year stint of Rams home games to be played in the United Kingdom at Wembley Stadium.
New England previously blew the Buccaneers out at Wembley in 2009. With this game against the Rams, the Patriots will join the Bucs as the only NFL teams to have played multiple games in England since the series of games at Wembley began in 2007.
"We are honored to be selected for this year's game and eager to return," said New England Patriots Chairman and CEO Robert Kraft said in a release. "We had such a great experience during our last visit to London. We are proud to have great support from our fans when we are on the road. The United Kingdom is home to some of our most passionate Patriots fans, including the UKPatriots, who are among our most active fan clubs overall, not just overseas. We look forward to another memorable experience."
