Gronk gets golden cleats for his '99' Madden rating

With a perfect Madden rating of 99, Gronk was awarded with his own pair of gold cleats and gloves.

King Midas has the golden touch, Charlie has the golden ticket and now Gronk has the golden cleats.

Well, and gloves too.

Gronk (along with Tom Brady) joined the coveted 99 Club this year, earning a perfect Madden rating of 99, and in honor of that achievement, Madden and Nike sent Gronk a special gift. In an Instagram post on Monday, Gronk shared photos of him "unboxing" his brand new gold cleats and gloves.

With the gold box reflecting in the sunlight and Gronk's excitement opening it up, it made a picture perfect moment.

"@usnikefootball and @eamaddennflsurprised me with custom gold cleats and gloves! 99 club baby!! Thanks to everyone at @nike and @eamaddennfl for always having my back! The season is just around the corner! #nike#madden19#nfl," Gronk wrote on Instagram.

Gronk and Tom were among just seven players across the league to secure a 99 rating to start the season, including Von Miller, Antonio Brown, Aaron Rodgers, Aaron Donald and Luke Kuechly. Tom earned a perfect rating last year, and Gronk started last season with a near-perfect 98.

With Gronk leading in categories like **Stiff Arm, Trucking, Catch in Traffic and Release**, it's no wonder he locked up a spot among the elite. Tom, too, takes in the cake in several categories, including perfect 99s in **Awareness, Stamina, Play Action and Throw Accuracy.**

It's an honor enough being rated the top in your position on Madden, so the custom cleats and gloves are just an added bonus for Gronk. Even though Patriots Nation is used to silver with their red and blue, we think they'll make a gold exception for Gronk's new kicks in the name of Madden perfection.
