Earlier this season, Sports Illustrated launched its first "Most Valuable Performer" contest, where NFL players could submit videos of their cool and unique talents. With a guitar and their harmonizing voices, Jacob and Cody Hollister sent in a clip singing Ed Sheeran's "Make It Rain."
Turns out the twins hit all the right notes with fans around the league, who voted to select the competition's finalists. Jacob and Cody advanced to the finals of the competition.Â
The Hollister brothers aren't the lone musicians who made the finals. Brandon Williams of the Ravens advanced for singing, Jonathan Stewart of the Panthers made it playing piano and Justin Tucker of the brought it with his opera singing. Baltimore's Alex Collins also advanced for his Irish step dancing, and Kevin Zeitler of the Browns made the cut -- with some help from his dog Amber.
Joe Thuney entered a video of his, in which he solved a Rubik's cube in impressive fashion, but Joe fell short of the finals this time around.Â
Jacob and Cody got some help with fan voting. Musician Darius Rucker tweeted out their video, showing support and encouraging his fans to give them a listen.Â
The finalists will compete on Jan. 25 on CBS, and if finalists cannot compete due to their football schedule, alternates have been selected to fill in.
