JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (March 31, 2005) -- The Jacksonville Jaguars signed free agent cornerback Kenny Wright to a one-year contract.
Wright spent the past three seasons with the Houston Texans, where he served as the team's primary nickel back. He finished with 13 tackles and one sack last season.
Wright will enter the competition to replace former cornerback Dewayne Washington, who was cut in early March along with backup Juran Bolden. Wright, fellow free agent Terry Cousin and backup Kiwaukee Thomas are currently in the mix to replace Washington.
In 84 career NFL games with Houston and Minnesota, Wright has 267 tackles and four interceptions.
