Kevin Faulk holds a special place in Patriots Nation. From his performance on the field as a career Patriot to his actions off the field that rally fans even in his post-NFL career, Kevin means a great deal to those who cheer on New England.
So when he took to The Players' Tribune to pen an essay like only he could — funny, honest and touching — Patriots Nation paid attention. The essay was published on Friday, the day before the Patriots are set to take on the Houston Texans in the AFC Divisional Round, and the timing couldn't have been better.
In the essay called "The Patriot Way," Kevin writes why you should never be late to a meeting with Bill Belichick, a pretty serious prank war and about Tom Brady's drive (and his funny side).
After playing in five Super Bowls, earning three rings and a fulfilling career in New England, Kevin also wrote that Patriots fans have been spoiled. But he backs up his claim with a pretty sweet sentiment.
"But that's O.K., because we loved spoiling you, and I know the guys on this year's team still love it," he wrote. "We love winning and we take great pride in being a team you can be proud to call your own. That's why we do what we do."
We don't want to spoil too much of it for you. It is definitely worth the read. You can read the entire essay here.
