(Jan. 31, 2006) -- For the first time, NFL Network will air a Super Bowl pregame show emanating live from the site of the Super Bowl.
Steve Mariucci, head coach of the Detroit Lions for the past three seasons, will provide analysis for NFL Network on Super Bowl Sunday from Ford Field in Detroit.
Beginning at noon ET on Sun., Feb. 5, NFL Total Access will feature five and a half hours of Super Bowl XL pregame coverage breaking down the matchup between the Steelers and Seahawks.
NFL Network has also added linebacker Ray Lewis, who was MVP of Super Bowl XXXV with the Ravens, joining NFL Network's all-pro roster featuring Rich Eisen, Super Bowl XXXII MVP Terrell Davis, Rod Woodson, Sterling Sharpe, Brian Baldinger and Solomon Wilcots to cover all angles of Super Bowl XL
The NFL Total Access Super Bowl Pregame Show will have four broadcast locations, three inside the site of the game, Ford Field, and one from the COBO Center, site of the NFL Experience. The talent breakdown is as follows:
- Main Ford Field Location: Eisen, Davis, Lewis and Mariucci
- Alternate Ford Field Location: Adam Schefter and Woodson
- Ford Field Television Booth: Kara Henderson and Sharpe
- COBO Center: Paul Burmeister, Wilcots and Baldinger
Mariucci will also work as an analyst on NFL Total Access' coverage of Super Bowl XL on Friday and Saturday of Super Bowl Week in Detroit.
