Devin McCourty and his twin brother Jason headed back to their alma mater over the weekend to be inducted into the Rutgers Hall of Distinguished Alumni. The awards ceremony celebrates graduates who have done amazing things in a number of fields. This year's class of inductees has had success in oil and gas exploration and production investments, cancer research and of course professional sports.
Devin and Jason, who graduated from Rutgers in 2010 and 2009 respectively, were honored for their football success with the Patriots and Titans as well as the work they do with their Tackle Sickle Cell campaign. The campaign works to increase awareness and inform the public on the disease as well as raise money and encourage more people to donate blood.
"So many different people here being honored from different avenues in life and for us to be an honor for the different work we do off the field is a true honor and a proud moment for our family," Devin said at the event.
