Tony Pauline of TFY Draft Insider reports that the feeling league wide is that the Patriots will add a quarterback in next month's NFL draft. This comes on the heels of his report from Tuesday that New England worked out Virginia Tech QB Logan Thomas.

"The feeling league wide is the Patriots will take a quarterback at some point in the draft as they expect to lose Ryan Mallett at the end of next season, hence the interest in Thomas," writes Pauline. READ MORE>>

Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston.com believes that Patriots CB Logan Ryan could get a look at safety if Brandon Browner emerges as a starter opposite Darrelle Revis.

"I think Ryan is competing for a starting job with Alfonzo Dennard opposite Darrelle Revis in the first four games of the regular season, which is when Brandon Browner is suspended," writes Reiss. "There will be an easing-in process with Browner after that, and if everyone is healthy and Browner emerges as the starter opposite Revis, I think Ryan and Dennard would then be closer to fourth/fifth on the depth chart (Kyle Arrington locked into the slot as the No. 3). In that scenario, it could lead Ryan to get a look at safety." READ MORE>>

Erik Frenz](http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patriots/extrapoints/2014/04/wordswithfrenzmailbagdominiqueeasleyhaslook.html) of the Boston Globe writes that Florida DL Dominique Easley has the look of a future Patriots defensive tackle.

"It seems like every undersized defensive tackle gets compared to Bengals defensive tackle Geno Atkins, but Easley may deserve that comparison more than most other prospects this year," notes Frenz. "At 6-foot-2 and 288 pounds, his quick burst off the snap is his best weapon in making plays in the backfield. He has a unique way of lining up at the line of scrimmage that makes him difficult to block and keep the shoulders square." READ MORE>>

Nick O'Malley](http://blog.masslive.com/patriots/2014/04/newenglandpatriots2014nfl_23.html) of MassLive.com take a look at Georgia TE Arthur Lynch and wonders where he could fit into New England's draft plans.

"Lynch would come in as a high-floor guy who may not have the highest ceiling, but could get a lot of playing time with his talents in both the run game and the pass game," writes O'Malley. "With their offense as it is, the Patriots don't need a top receiving threat at tight end. They just need a guy who can block and at least be a threat to run down the seam and catch some high balls in the redzone. Lynch can do that." READ MORE>>

Tom E. Curran of CSNNE.com writes that Patriots free agent WR Austin Collie worked out for the Washington Redskins this week, according to a report.

"If he doesn't sign with Washington, it wouldn't be a surprise to see Collie back in the mix with the Patriots, especially as the surgery and rehab of Aaron Dobson is likely going to run through the summer," adds Curran. READ MORE>>
