FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Patriots announced today that they have re-signed LB Christian Elliss as a restricted free agent after matching the offer sheet by Las Vegas.
Elliss, 26, was claimed off waivers and awarded to New England from Philadelphia on Dec. 8, 2023. The 6-foot-2, 231-pounder, originally entered the NFL as a rookie free agent with Minnesota out of Idaho in 2021. He spent the majority of his rookie season on the Philadelphia practice squad, with a brief stint on the San Francisco practice squad. He began the 2022 season on the Philadelphia practice squad before being signed to the 53-man roster and playing in six games in the regular season and three games in the postseason, including Super Bowl LVII. Elliss has played in 39 regular season games with six starts and has 98 total tackles, 1½ sacks, 1 interception, 5 passes defensed, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery and 19 special teams tackles. Last season, he played in 16 games with five starts for the Patriots and finished with 72 total tackles, 1½ sacks, 1 interception, 5 passes defensed and 8 special teams tackles.
