GREEN BAY, Wis. (Jan. 31, 2006) -- Kurt Schottenheimer is returning to the Green Bay Packers as secondary coach.
New Green Bay head coach Mike McCarthy announced the hiring of Schottenheimer, the brother of San Diego head coach Marty Schottenheimer.
Schottenheimer was the secondary coach for the Packers in 2004. He held the same position with the St. Louis Rams last season and has been with six teams since he began coaching in the NFL in 1987.
He was defensive coordinator with Kansas City in 1999-2000, Washington in 2001 and Detroit in 2002-2003.
In Green Bay, he will work with defensive coordinator Bob Sanders.
"As a former coordinator, Kurt brings a great deal of experience to the staff, which will be important in the defensive backfield," McCarthy said.
