The New England Patriots announced 11 personnel transactions that were needed for the team to reduce their roster to the league's limit of 53 players today. Ten players were released, while CB Leonard Myers, who is recovering from a groin injury, was placed on the team's physically unable to perform list and will miss at least the first six weeks of the regular season.
Myers, 23, was drafted by the Patriots in the sixth round of the 2001 NFL draft out of Miami (Fla.). The 5-foot-10-inch, 198-pound cornerback appeared in seven games for the Patriots as a rookie and was credited with five defensive tackles during the season.
