In an effort to bring more depth and experience behind QB **Tom Brady**, the team released QB Matt Gutierrez and replaced him with Andrew Walter. Walter, at 6-6, 230lbs., spent the previous four seasons as a member of the Oakland Raiders making 15 appearances. According to a *Boston Globe *story, Walter will challenge for the No. 2 or 3 position on the depth chart with Kevin O' Connelland Brian Hoyer.

Another first-year Patriot, TE Chris Baker, caught up the Globe to discuss his transition to New England.
