Very soon, Andre Tippettwill be immortalized at the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
In a conference call with national reporters Tuesday, the former Patriot great had this to say about his upcoming induction in August.
Tippett spoke about the excitement of being included with some of the game's legends in a *Hartford Courant *article.
"You see the list and you pretty much have grown up watching a lot of those guys that are on that list play. Some that I considered my contemporaries," Tippett said. "It is awesome."
The *Patriot Ledger *has a piece in which the soon-to-be Hall of Famer shed light on another heralded linebacker of his time.
"I have so much respect for Lawrence Taylor. I think what he did was he opened the doors for a lot of other guys to come into the league.
"Guys were measured up against him. (Teams were taking the approach that), 'We want to get us an LT. We want to get us an Andre Tippett. We want to run a 3-4 defense.'"
