Patriots Place CB Tyrone Poole On Injured Reserve

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Patriots placed veteran Tyrone Poole on the reserve / injured list with a knee injury.

Poole, 31, joined the Patriots as an unrestricted free agent on March 11, 2003. Since joining the Patriots, he has registered a total of 81 tackles (71 solo), 24 passes defensed, seven interceptions and three forced fumbles.

Poole started four of five games at cornerback for the 2004 season. This season, he totaled 17 total tackles (14 solo), three passes defensed and one interception for a 21-yard return.

Poole was originally drafted in the first round of the 1995 NFL draft as the 22nd overall selection. The 5-foot-8-inch, 188-pound cornerback from Fort Valley State has started 109 of 129 games during his nine-year career.
