The New England Patriots announced today that the club has placed rookie free agent LB Christian Cox on injured reserve.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -The New England Patriots announced today that rookie free agent LB Christian Cox has been placed on injured reserve with a neck injury.

Cox, 25, was originally signed by the Patriots as a rookie free agent on July 27, 2011 out of Utah. The 6-3, 250-pound linebacker earned first-team all-conference honors as a senior after starting in all 13 games and registering 53 tackles and 4.0 sacks.
