Patriots place WR P.K. Sam on Injured Reserve

Patriots Wide Receiver PK Sam is placed on Injured Reserve.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Patriots placed rookie wide receiver P.K. Sam on injured reserve with a groin injury today.

Sam, 21, was selected by the Patriots in the fifth round (164th overall) of the 2004 NFL Draft. The 6-foot-3-inch, 210-pounder saw reserve action in two games this season at wide receiver and did not record any statistics. Sam was a three-year letterman at Florida State, where he appeared in 35 games and tallied 1,066 yards on 76 receptions (14.0 avg.) with seven touchdowns. As a junior, in his final collegiate season, the Buford, Ga. native started all 13 games and hauled in 50 passes for 735 yards (14.7 avg.) and five touchdowns.
