TOM BRADY, QB
On throwing the ball in these weather conditions
"Well, we've been playing in an environment in Foxboro for a long time that has inclement weather conditions. So, all of us who were out there today have certainly played in snow and wind and bad weather. Everyone executed pretty well at times today. It was a good win. That was a good football team with a good defense. Our defense turned it over for us a bunch, which was great. We really needed that. It was just great to come in here and get a win on the road against a very tough team on a short week."
On staying consistent with their play-calling all year
"We talked a lot about the weather conditions before the game - the kind of plays we're going to run, and the kind of plays we like based on the defense we're facing. Some were (plays) we've done quite a bit. Some were probably new ones out of the playbook. I wish we would have gotten the ball into the red area a little bit more. We kicked too many field goals, I thought, but, other than that, it was a pretty good day."
On playing in these conditions
"They don't cancel football games very often. It's not like baseball… We don't play out there in San Diego all of the time. You're out in the cold weather. You're out in whatever the elements are. You've got to be mentally tough enough to play in them. Both teams are playing in them. Coach (Belichick) always stresses the opponent that we're playing is the Chicago Bears - not the weather, not the refs, not the crowd. It's the Bears. And, that is what we were focused on today… It's one of those days. It's one of those days that people would rather be cozied up near the fireplace, drinking hot chocolate, but we work on Sundays, and all of us are pretty committed to coming out here and trying to play well and try to execute well in some pretty tough conditions, and for the most part, we did that."
On this game compared to other games with tough weather conditions
"We've been pretty good in snow over the years for whatever reason. I think because we practice in it quite a bit. I mean, we don't go in our bubble very often. If it's windy, we practice out there. If it's snowing, we practice in the snow. If it's raining, we practice in the rain. Some conditions are a bit tougher than others. I thought it was great for us to get out to a lead today and to play from ahead. That was really important. I think we took advantage of some opportunities we got on offense. We also didn't take advantage of some of the opportunities that we had on offense. Our defense gave it to us on a short field. Some great punt returns. But, it was a fun day. We'll remember that one."
On whether he's surprised the offense has come together as well as it has
"Well, there's a long way to go. I don't think anything has been accomplished yet. We're working hard to make improvements. I don't think we have every problem solved. There are plenty of defenses that have kicked us around a little bit. We don't sit here and think we have it all figured out. We're still trying to make improvements."
On Branch and Welker both getting to 100 yards receiving
"They're both dependable, tough, disciplined, smart, and incredibly skilled receivers. They made some huge plays today. Deion (Branch) made some incredible catches. Wes (Welker) made some great catches. I think they both complement each other very well. Brandon (Tate) made a hell of a catch there at the end. Gronk (Rob Gronkowski) made some great catches. Aaron (Hernandez) made some critical plays. That whole group of skill players came out in these elements and showed some great mental toughness."
GARY GUYTON, LB
On his fumble recovery for a touchdown
"It was a great play made by Devin (McCourty). Devin came in and stripped the ball away. The ball was just rolling by itself. I was looking at the ball and looking at the goal line. There was nobody between the goal line, so I just scooped and scored. It was a good feeling. I was excited about that."
WES WELKER, WR
On playing in these conditions
"I think you just need to bring a certain type of attitude in this type of weather and make sure that you're on top of your game and don't let the elements distract you and really bring it that much more. For me, it was about getting my mindset right that we were going to go out there and make plays and move the ball and, especially early in the game and try and get up on these guys, which we were able to do, and try and get the victory."
On both him and Deion Branch getting over 100 yards
"I was hoping I would go over 100 yards. It seems like I've come so close a few times. That's good to hear, but actually having Deion out there is such a huge help for us. The strides he's made for our offense is very substantial in what he's been able to do, and with Tom (Brady) having trust in him and, us just going out there and just spreading the ball around, and just everyone going out there and making plays. At the end of the day, that is what it's all about."
On what it means to clinch a playoff berth with today's win
"It doesn't mean much. We're still just playing football, and that's what it's all about. We're enjoying showing up to work and working hard and practicing hard and getting ready for the next game."
DEION BRANCH, WR
On whether this is the best he's seen Tom Brady play
"You all have been asking me this for the past five or six weeks. I think the thing is that we all just need to continue to work, and I think Tom just needs to continue to do that each and every day from Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. This guy - it starts in the classroom - and then he takes it to the football field."
On what these last two games tell you about where your football team is
"Nothing. It just tells you we did a great job of game planning. You know, I think it's going to be a totally different situation next week. We're going against another great defense in Green Bay. I think the coaches are doing a great job of game planning for the game. Each and every week, it's totally different. We're going to face different tasks, and we just need to deal with them."
DANNY WOODHAEAD, RBOn the teams' success in the bad weather
"Everyone just worked together. The defense wanted to force turnovers and then we tried to capitalize. We worked together as a team in all three phases. We got the win and that's the most important thing."
On scoring a lot of points against a good defense for the second consecutive game
"More than anything I think it's just important to get the win. If we score a lot of points like today, we know we have a better chance of winning. More than anything we're just happy to get the win."
MATT LIGHT, T
On the weather conditions during the game
"It wasn't as bad as I think as what we probably initially thought. The wind gusts would be pretty nasty at times, but overall it wasn't a huge factor I didn't think. Tommy (Brady) was able to get the ball down the field and guys were able to get open and keep their footing. It was definitely a factor, but more probably upfront than anything else."
On the play of Tom Brady versus the Bears in adverse conditions
"I have no idea how he does what he does, but I think the type of routes that they were running and how he was delivering the ball and stuff like that, and the opportunities we had being able to stay on track; positive-yards on first and second down, not having to be in a whole lot of third-and-longs helped out a lot."
VINCE WILFORK, NTOn coming off a big win and having the short week to prepare for the Bears
"A short week, playing a division game then having to go on the road with another great football team and the Chicago Bears. We knew they were going to be pretty jacked-up. They are a playoff caliber team. We had to try and get things down in a short amount of time and hopefully we had it today. I think we prepared pretty good and once again when we play that way we played. We always look as a team at what type of practice we had and practices went pretty good. We weren't in pads - just shells and kind of up-tempo walkthrough and I think guys really focused in. It just shows you this team is maturing. Each week we're maturing and we're going to need more of that going down the road. It doesn't stop here and I've told you before good teams find a way to win in December."
