FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Patriots announced today that OL Nick McDonald has been signed to the 53-man roster from the practice squad. In addition, the Patriots released WR Taylor Price.
McDonald, 6-4, 316 pounds, originally joined the Patriots practice squad on Sept. 5, 2011 after being released by the Green Bay Packers on Sept. 3. He was signed by Green Bay as a rookie free agent out of Grand Valley State on April 30, 2010. He was inactive for all 16 regular-season games and four postseason games with the Packers last season.
Price, 24, was originally drafted by the Patriots in the third round (90th overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft out of Ohio. As a rookie, he was inactive for the first 15 games before making his NFL debut in the 2010 regular-season finale vs. Miami on Jan. 2, 2011. He caught three receptions for 41 yards against the Dolphins. Price, 6-0, 205 pounds, played in two games in 2011 but did not have any receptions.
