The New England Patriots announced the signing of second-round draft choice Marquise Hill today, making him the highest 2004 NFL draft choice to be signed to date. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Hill, 22, was drafted by the Patriots in the second round of the 2004 NFL draft with the 63rd selection overall. The 6-foot-6-inch, 297-pound defensive end started 25 of 38 games in three seasons at Louisiana State, where he recorded 108 career tackles (58 solo), including 10 sacks for losses of 51 yards. Last season, Hill recorded five sacks in Louisiana State's final seven games, including one for a 13-yard loss against Georgia in the SEC title game. He also recorded another sack versus Oklahoma for an 8-yard loss in the national championship game. He started every game at defensive end as a junior in 2003 and 12 of 13 games as a sophomore in 2002.
